Answering you question: Never saw anyone using dual wield. True that creating a Swords and stuff let's you pick up a sword, but I think that's not True, since I never saw anyone dual wielding. =)

The class D sword merc can only equip 1 sword; weapon in one hand, shield on the other. The only other merc that can carry 2 swords is the sailor (i.e. pirate), which you can get at lv100.

Yes, i think "sword" under the "off-hand" column should be removed. It can be quite misleading.

u can also equip 2 swords in character simulator i picked up 6 swordman for nothing thx to aop

Judging by the way you speak I think you still don't know very much about the game, and your lvl shouldn't be that high,
So I think It should be easy for you to start again :p

There are swords later that requires both hands to wield (a 2-H Sword I guess), such as Storm Bringer which is why a Sword is a possible off hand item

Sorry about this error, it's corrected now.
I added the support for Sword as offhand with the Sailor, unfortunately in the code it was extended to all mercenaries that could equip a sword, and this mistake wasn't reported until now.

Lexvink is true about two-handed swords (there are about 3-4 weapons of this type, and it's specified in their description), but the Character Simulator handles them as normal sword (I mean: it doesn't block the offhand slot).

Cursed Sword of Muramasa is a dual wield sword (2h), but you can only use it if your main is a Swordsmen.

They do have a large attack power rating even at +0, but in return they take away a large amount, and increasing at higher levels, of VIT.

Of course rings can be used to counter this if you want to sacrifice health for power.
